‌‌The project site is neither located in Dokdo that can best speak by itself the value and story of Dokdo, nor located in the center of metropolitan city like Seoul that can best provide the site with accessibility. Instead, not only does the site sit near sea in that the sea can be sufficiently appreciated with one’s five senses but also the site includes Mt. Yukhyang that used to be an island where Yisabu launched his voyage to Usanguk, currently Ulleungdo and Dokdo.

This project “Disclosed Nature” highlights such inherent natural and historical characteristics that the site and its components once had had and now still have. By concurrently unveiling three natures of the site (Topographical Nature, Hydrological Nature, Geographical Nature), Yisabu Dokdo Memorial Park becomes an irreplaceable place where people can synchronically experience Yisabu Dokdo through the integrated architecture and landscape that are proposed in this project.
