‌잠실5단지의 공동주거 프로젝트는 사유화된 공공성을 넘어 열린 공동체성을 구현하는 새로운 도전이다. 도시민의 다양한 라이프스타일을 담아내는 열린공동체가 되기 위해서는 강남의 슈퍼블록 개발방식과 다른 작은 프로그램의 조합이 만들어가는 메타시티와 같은 주거단지를 만들어 내야 한다. 공동성의 숲은 자본주의 어바니즘에서 커뮤니티 어바니즘으로, 게이티는 커뮤니티에서 공동성의 커뮤니티로, 상업적 자본주의에서 사회적 지속가능한 미세 경제로, 자동차 중심의 도시에서 보행중심의 도시로의 전환을 위한 간적 선언이다. 

‌Design of Jamsil Apartment Residential Complex 5 is a new challenge that overcomes privatized publicity and realizes the open commonness. In order to create an open community that contains diverse lifestyles, we need to create a meta city-like residential complex, where multi-layered urban programs make a new sense of community-ship. This differs from the super block development applied to prototypical urban plots of Gangnam. Forest of Commons is a new spatial proclaim that transforms capitalist urbanism to community urbanism, gated community to communal community, commercial capitalism to socially-sustainable micro-economy, and automobile-oriented to pedestrian-friendly city.
